“What would you do if…?” You can expect a line of questioning that will begin with those popular words. Many pilots who are not prepared for such questioning will often answer with whatever comes to mind first only to think about it later and wish they could change their answer. “If only I had time to think about the scenario for a minute…” is a response commonly heard after an interview. Of course, it is too late by then. With some airlines, this phase of the interview takes the place of simulator or technical testing. It is important that an applicant has thought about such questions in advance and can logically discuss a solution.
